Which bot to use
Shebang has three bots in Slack. Each has its own access, and they don't share conversations.
Praktikanten
- Use it for
- Everyday help at work. In a private message it tailors your CV for an assignment, remembers how you like to work and takes your feedback on Praktikanten.
- Where
- Private messages in the Praktikanten app. In a channel, everyone in it sees the replies.
- Who can use it
- Anyone at Shebang. Sign in here and link Slack before your first private message.
More about Praktikanten
- Private messages use your own instructions and memory, kept apart from other colleagues'.
- In channels it can't see anyone's private notes or memory.
- Post absences in the vacations channel and sales submissions in the sales channel. Those registers only work there.
- Questions for Management go to Praktikanten Management instead.
Praktikanten Management
- Use it for
- Questions from Management members, answered from the Management directory. Absence notices to managers and team leads also come from it.
- Where
- Private messages in the Praktikanten Management app. It doesn't answer in channels.
- Who can use it
- Current members of Management, after signing in here and linking Slack.
More about Praktikanten Management
- It checks the Management list before it reads the directory and again before every reply. Someone removed from the list gets no further answers.
- The Management directory is its only source. It can't read salaries, contracts, other personnel records or anyone's Praktikanten conversations, and it can't send messages for you.
- A conversation ended by a removal stays ended. Start a new one from the app's Messages tab.
Vikarien
- Use it for
- Shared development work on Shebang projects, such as code changes and previews.
- Where
- Mention @Vikarien in #collaborating or another channel it has joined, or type /vikarien. In a browser, open its shared workspace.
- Who can use it
- Anyone in a channel it has joined. Its workspace has its own sign-in, separate from this one.
More about Vikarien
- Its sessions are shared, so colleagues can read and continue them.
- Shared projects and their status are on the team board.
- It doesn't take private messages.
- It runs separately from Praktikanten, and neither bot sees the other's conversations.
